Portixol
Portixol is one of those places everyone who owns a home in Mallorca uses, regardless of where they live. Once a fishing village, it remains authentic and unchanged at heart, but has been carefully and sensitively updated over time. The promenade is part of daily life here, connecting restaurants and the water in a way that feels natural and residential. Former fishermen’s houses sit alongside beautifully reworked homes, giving Portixol a rare mix of history, ease and its enduring appeal.
Life in Portixol unfolds along the water.
The promenade frames the day, from morning walks to long lunches and evenings that drift outside. At one end sits Hotel Portixol, set on a small cap overlooking the sea, its terrace a meeting point for locals at any time of day. Next door, Sa Roqueta remains a classic, known for its paella and fresh fish, while newer places like Peripol have quickly become firm favourites.
Further along, Anssia brings a different energy, with tables on the sand, sun loungers, DJs and long afternoons spent looking back across Palma’s bay towards the cathedral. Portixol manages to feel social without ever feeling transient a place people return to, again and again.
