Porto Colom
Porto Colom is an authentic fishing village in the South East of Mallorca, and it feels it the moment you arrive. The wide, sheltered harbour still shapes daily life, with traditional llaüts on the water and pastel houses and boat sheds lining the shore. There is a warmth and familiarity here that feels deeply Mediterranean. It is honest, relaxed and gently timeless. Porto Colom has a lightness to it, where time slows, days drift and it’s very easy to lose track of the hours.
Life here revolves around the sea.
Cala Marçal sits just beyond the harbour, a deep stretch of white sand with beautifully clear water and a chiringuito that lets you settle in for the day from breakfast through to late afternoon, with no real sense of time passing. On the opposite side, S’Arenal is pure Porto Colom one of our favourite spots on the island, loved by locals, with sweeping views back across the bay, the lighthouse and the village itself. Now home to two much loved chiringuitos, it captures a version of Mallorca that feels sparkly, real and timeless. Above the port, hillside homes and fincas look down over the water, while the village below remains relaxed, authentic and full of quiet joy.
