Valldemossa
Valldemossa takes your breath away the first time you see it, and every time after. The old bancales, the village and the setting in the mountains create something genuinely extraordinary.
Just twenty minutes from Palma, Valldemossa feels completely removed from the rest of the island. The church appears on the drive in, followed by cobbled streets, old houses with shutters and one of the best bakeries in Mallorca. It is a deeply local village, with a weekly market, our favourite Cappuccino café and restaurants like Es Taller shaping everyday life.
Valldemossa is steeped in history, but it is also quietly creative. Historic estates such as Son Moragues are now being carefully regenerated through projects like SONMO, producing olive oil, ceramics and homeware on the land itself.
The village is surrounded by vast mountain scenery and sea views, with old townhouses, large fincas and hidden estates across the hillsides. Beyond the village, the coastal road leads past Son Bunyola to the far end of the Tramuntana, while Port Valldemossa sits quietly below, capturing a version of Mallorca that feels unchanged.
